Herbal Decoction Health Insurance Pilot Program
Midam Clinic participates in the Herbal Decoction Health Insurance Pilot Program. For eligible conditions, herbal decoctions may be prescribed when clinically needed. All care is combined with acupuncture and tailored to the individual.
Conditions and guidance
- Disc disorders (lumbar and cervical)
- Assessment centered on acupuncture, pharmacopuncture, and Chuna. Herbal decoctions may be added as needed.
- Sequelae after stroke
- We check functional and fitness changes after stroke and may combine decoctions with acupuncture when appropriate.
- Remaining fatigue, unilateral function decline, and difficulty returning to daily life vary greatly by individual, so decoctions are used selectively after assessment.
- Facial palsy (Bell's palsy)
- After evaluating facial function through whole‑body assessment including tongue, pulse, and history, acupuncture is primary and decoctions may be added.
- Dysmenorrhea
- We assess menstrual cycle, lifestyle, sleep, and stress. Decoction use is decided individually with acupuncture.
- Functional dyspepsia
- For non‑structural digestive discomfort such as heartburn, bloating, and appetite changes, we evaluate with lifestyle, sleep, and condition, and may use decoctions as needed.
- Allergic rhinitis
- For recurrent symptoms such as congestion, sneezing, and clear rhinorrhea, we consider constitution, environment, and sleep pattern. Decoction use depends on the result of consultation.
